Built for the released game and real player saves
Hollow Knight: Silksong was released on September 4, 2025. This editor works with the numbered userX.dat profiles created by the released PC game; it is not a pre-release simulator or a collection of hypothetical fields.
Why I built it
I started with the common values players reach for most: Rosaries, Shell Shards, Health, and other established fields. The goal was to make those changes readable without hiding the underlying data from advanced users.
Then other players began using the editor to recover or investigate real save problems. V2 keeps the original quick workflow, adds save-aware checkers, and documents where a community workaround is still uncertain.
How the project decides what to automate
A field name alone is not enough. I compare the uploaded save state, the implementation and fixtures in this project, official patch information, and reproducible player reports. If the complete change is known, the editor can present a narrow action with technical details. If related progression flags are still uncertain, the feature stays a checker.
That is why Steel Soul recovery can be available for one exact defeated state while Plasmium Phial and Tool Pouch remain more cautious. The goal is not to expose the largest possible list of switches. It is to help players understand what their save says and make reversible decisions.
Keep your original save and test a copy
This independent fan-made utility helps you read your save, make a targeted edit, and download a separate copy. Keep the untouched original so you can return to it after testing your changes in the game.
